Course Structure
You will receive a Drivers Record which will be
updated after each driving lesson. This provides a record for both
student and instructor showing the progress and competency level reached. We
operate 5 key stages, once each subject in all key stages has been reached it
will be signed off by your instructor. You are now ready to take your
driving test.
Key Stage 1
* Cockpit Drill & Safety Checks
* Use of Controls & Instruments
* Use of Mirrors & Signals
* Moving away & Stopping
* Steering & Safe Positioning
* Gear use

* Emergency Stop / Controlled Stop
* Moving off downhill
* Moving off uphill
* Moving off at an angle
* Turning Left Major to Minor
* Turning Right Major to Minor
* Emerging Left Minor to Major
* Emerging Right Minor to Major

* Crossroads
* Traffic Lights & Complex Junctions
* Appropriate action on all pedestrian crossings
* Normal driving postion and lane discipline
* Roundabouts
* Adequate clearance to stationary vehicles

* Meeting traffic
* Crossing traffic
* Overtaking traffic
* Progress & Hesitancy
* Anticipation and awareness to other road users

Key Stage 5
* Turn in the road
* Reversing to the left
* Reversing to the right
* Bay parking

The manoeuvres will be introduced throughout the training course once the pupil
has mastered the forward control.
Any previous driving experience will be taken into account and the course
adapted to suit your skill level.
